Dragons of the Dawn
Welcome to the official Dragons of the Dawn roleplay thread! Please keep all roleplaying restricted to this thread (and about Dragons of the Dawn), please!
Plot
Thousands of years ago, the world lived in harmony. The ancient dragons soared above the heads of the dwarves and the humans, their wings sending torrents of cool wind through the air. The humans and dwarves looked up to the dragons, worshipping them as if they were gods. In turn, the dragons would watch over them, protecting them from those who had turned on them, and those who wished to destroy them.
Eventually, though, the leaders of both the humans and the dwarves grew jealous of the dragons' power. They thought that by defeating the dragons, they would be able to claim the power as their own. However, they did not understand that with much power comes much responsibility, and when they attempted to slay the dragons, they were unable to harness their powers, as they tried to abuse their powers.
The dragons, however, were enraged. They did not appreciate that the ones they had trusted were taking their power and abusing it.
They turned all of the leaders into Falltree dragons, stripping away their powers and driving them away. It is said that they look different from regular Falltree dragons, being solid black with longer tails and horns. It is also said that you can see them emerging in the fall, before taking off into the sky, only to return to their trees in the winter.
After many years, a prophecy arose about the "Dragons of the Dawn". It was claimed that the dragons would restore peace to the world. Not many believed in it, and those who did began to doubt it after a few years.
Eventually, the "chosen" dragons did arise, though they were not as functional as some would believe. Icewing did not believe he was part of the prophecy. Nyx was shy. Winter was overly compliant. No one knew much about Kira.
Things weren't looking good for the group, and they eventually parted ways. However, a revelation occurred, and it was discovered that the prophecy was forged. Shadowfang, the creator of the fake prophecy, was defeated, and the dragons were successful, though peace did not return. The dragons parted ways.
Not much is known about those years, but they were next seen when the second Great War broke out.
The dragons and their former allies took different sides, each one believing different things. The dragons' side believes that they are the only ones who should hold power -- the dwarves and the humans should allow them to protect them, as they believe they are the master race. The humans and their dwarf allies, however, believe that they should be the ones in power -- they are the ones who built cities and settlements, so they are the master race.
A rebel group of dragons arose, going by the name of Serendipity's Candor. They disagreed with both sides, believing that the only way for them to survive was to return to their old ways, and live in harmony.
Forces are amassing. Battles are blazing. Which side are you on?
